Fix Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached

Question

I tried to activate my iPhone 6 and I got this error Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached. I tried to reboot the device, reinsert the sim card, but still getting the same error.

My network in working fine. My phone was activated before the restore. How can I fix this problem and activate my device?

Hello Stephan. This error can be fixed by trying the following methods.

1. Hard Reboot your device (Hold Home & Power for 10 seconds).

2. Try to activate your iPhone on another WiFi Network.

3. If your iPhone is Not unlocked - Use the official sim card.

4. Activate your iPhone via iTunes (connect your phone and open iTunes).

5. Try with a custom DNS server.

If still you can't fix the "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server cannot be reached" error - reply here.
